The future cannot be left behind: the Brazilian university and the enigma of Bolsonarism

Neste artigo, colocamos em relevo as contribuições do estudo Fascistização e educação superior: o futuro da universidade pública em xeque, em que Kátia Lima e Janaína Duarte investigam os rumos da educação superior pública no Brasil pós-2016. De forma dialogada, tratamos de algumas das questões que caracterizam essa educação à luz das particularidades do desenvolvimento dependente e da sua configuração na quadra histórica atual, com o ascenso neofascista. Quando foi possível, propusemos outros elementos para se somarem às análises já apresentadas pelas autoras. Nas considerações, indicamos que o estudo traz uma importante contribuição para a compreensão da conjuntura presente e para as lutas vindouras em defesa da educação superior pública no Brasil.
