Abstract

This study presents a combined reflective report of two inter-university exchange doctorate experiences linked to the Postgraduate Programme in Social Work at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul (PPGSS - PUC/RS). It reflects on the lived experiences and presents unique elements of the process of the internationalisation of the training of professors/researchers. Beyond addressing the challenges and advances, it stresses how the exchange experiences arising from internationalisation policies have repercussions on teacher training, formation of international cooperation networks between higher education institutions at undergraduate and graduate levels, and in international publications. These experiences were fundamental in the consolidation of partnerships, agreements and exchanges based on the integration of professors in participant universities.
