Abstract

This study aims to carry out a comprehensive bibliometric analysis of scientific research on almond (Prunus dulcis) cultivation from 2003 to 2023, with an emphasis on research, development, innovation and dissemination of technologies. Using the Scopus platform, 1160 relevant articles were identified using a variety of keywords: Prunus dulcis, Almond, Almendro, Amêndoa, Agricult, Nutrition, Phytosanitary, Genetic, Improvement, Irrigat, Breed, Genotype and Cultivar. The largest number of publications is led by Spain, followed by the United States of America, Iran, Italy and Turkey. These countries, which also stand out as important global almond producers, have established solid connections between authors, universities and the keywords mentioned. It is concluded that bibliometric analysis proves to be an effective quantitative tool for understanding the state of scientific research related to almond cultivation. Furthermore, this approach offers a valuable set of knowledge and references for researchers working in the same area, serving as a solid basis to guide future investigations and promote advances in this constantly evolving field.
