Un análisis crítico de los factores económicos de la adopción de energías renovables en diferentes países de América Latina

Las energías renovables, como la solar, la eólica, la biomasa y la geotérmica, son fuentes que se regeneran de forma natural y, por tanto, ofrecen una alternativa más sostenible a las fuentes energéticas procedentes de combustibles fósiles. Por ello, en los países desarrollados la adopción a gran escala es un reflejo de políticas económicas favorables. Sin embargo, en los países subdesarrollados o en desarrollo aún persisten barreras económicas que dificultan la adopción de estas fuentes de energía. En este contexto, este artículo tiene como objetivo discutir los principales factores limitantes encontrados en la literatura, desde un punto de vista económico, para la adopción de energías renovables en países seleccionados de América Latina. Para ello, se realizó una revisión sistemática de la literatura en las bases de datos Science Direct, Scopus y Web of Science. Se concluyó que los principales factores económicos que limitan la adopción de energías renovables están asociados a la dependencia de combustibles fósiles, altos costos de instalación, falta de infraestructura, dificultades de financiamiento y apoyo económico gubernamental. Otro resultado destacable es la inclusión de países latinoamericanos seleccionados en el estudio, dado que la literatura encontrada para estos países es escasa.
