BJPE Editorial Policy

BJPE's editorial policy is based on establishing principles, guidelines and responsibilities for readers, authors, reviewers and editors. With this objective, the scope, the peer review procedure, access to the journal's content, the established copyrights, and finally the standards made available, strictly follow the recommendations of standards of ethics and scientific responsibility.

Editorial Functions
The Editorial Board is fundamental within the scope of BJPE, due to its relevance it has the purpose of:
Ensure quality in terms of accuracy of information, clarity of writing and relevance; Making editorial decisions considering which manuscripts have publication significance (originality, originality and contribution to knowledge); Establish and review editorial guidelines, ensuring standardization, format and publication ethics; Finally, monitor and mediate possible conflicts of interest, ensuring impartiality and editorial integrity.

The Editorial Board is responsible for making an effort towards the sustainability of the magazine, ensuring its dissemination, maintenance and consolidation; expand the list of available evaluators; support section editors in the process of ensuring the maintenance of good editorial practices; act as the last resort regarding the acceptance of material submitted for publication; decide on the publication of thematic volumes and issues regarding the editorial line.

For the organization of the editorial flow, the Chief Editors are responsible for constant improvement and for coordinating the entire editorial team, convening and presiding over the Editorial Board. Section Editors are responsible for analyzing submitted manuscripts and approving those that are within the scope of the journal, forwarding them to registered ad hoc referees (reviewers). They must also ensure anonymous processing, with fairness and impartiality. Always ensuring the maintenance of good editorial practices.

It is important to highlight that the group of External Reviewers is made up of masters and doctors from different institutions and it is guaranteed that they notify the Editors of their availability to evaluate an article, respecting established deadlines; that consider manuscripts as confidential documents, protecting intellectual property and authors’ rights; that promptly report violations of rights by authors and/or plagiarism practices; and concluding, that they record an objective opinion, expressing opinions with reasoned arguments and references, based on good editorial practices.
The Editing and Layout team is currently made up of Chief Editors, responsible for ensuring visual quality, respecting the original project and guidelines of the magazine.
