Abstract

The present text is an exercise in performance writing that traces in its course an account of the failure of two art teachers from the municipal education network of Florianópolis (SC). It is triggered by the writing of Fernand Deligny, memorable for his work in educational centers and for his critique of their imprisonment character. The educator, who accompanied marginalized youth for more than fifty years, thought of education as a way of finding possible ways of living in excluding contexts. Writing with him means making visible the role of writing and reading in critical educational action, as devices of support and care. With Deligny, failure becomes dance.

Author Biographies

  • Gabriel Bonfim, Universidade Estadual de Londrina

    He holds a PhD in Visual Arts from the State University of Santa Catarina (UDESC) and is a collaborating professor in the Department of Visual Arts at the State University of Londrina (UEL). His production and research focus on contemporary artistic processes, with an emphasis on performance, artist's writing, autofiction, and interdisciplinary practices.

  • Guilherme Bruschi Frizzo, Universidade do Estado de Santa Catarina

    He is a licensed art teacher in Visual Arts from the Federal Institute of Paraná (IFPR) and a master's student in the Postgraduate Program in Visual Arts at the State University of Santa Catarina (UDESC), in the line of Contemporary Artistic Processes. He conducts research that starts from the conditions of insertion into education to consider the possibilities and negotiations between education, freedom, and desire.
