The change between cinema, food and citizenship

Several strategies are employed in extension projects to foster discussions on relevant contemporary themes, including cinema. From this, Cinecidadania, a university extension project, linked to the PENSO Nucleus of the UFCG/CES Cuité campus, seeks the construction of shared knowledge among the community, through
the discussion of cinematographic productions. The present study seeks to report and evaluate the Cinecidadania extension project, in its structure and development, in order to contribute to the articulation of the dialogue between the University and the Cuiteense community. The project is based on a methodology
for the exhibition of films on different themes and the formation of debates / discussion circles on the themes contained in them. From the observations and analysis of the questionnaires, it could be observed that the cinema can be a transforming agent and promoter of reflections about diverse themes, from the feeding to
citizenship, and that the project is in harmony with the guidelines advocated by the National Policy of University Extension (2012)
