Estátuas imperiais e grupos subalternos: destruição, ridicularização e crítica como subversão das relações de poder durante a Antiguidade Tardia

Neste artigo, propomo-nos a analisar a relação dos grupos subalternos com as estátuas imperiais durante os últimos séculos do Mundo Antigo (IV-VIII), apontando para exemplos de leituras subversivas e críticas para com o poder imperial documentadas nas fontes e que evidenciam que esses grupos desenvolveram novas formas de redefinir as relações de poder tradicional a partir da maneira como interagiam com as estátuas imperiais.
