Tasos e a pequena ilha de Thasopoula
questões de insularidade e conexões estratégicas no Norte do Egeu

Este artigo visa apresentar um estudo de caso da ilhota de Thasopoula, uma pequena ilha localizada no Norte do Egeu, próxima à ilha de Tasos. Desde o período arcaico, essa pequena ilha mantém uma forte conexão estratégica com a região do Norte do Egeu. Buscamos, por meio da análise dos vestígios materiais encontrados nos relatórios de escavação da ilhota, explorar questões relacionadas à dinâmica humana em ilhas de pequenas dimensões. Dessa maneira, procuramos problematizar os conceitos de não isolamento e a revelação de ilhas menos conhecidas, subordinadas ao domínio de ilhas maiores, utilizando os dados disponíveis. Para compreender a dinâmica local e regional das pequenas ilhas no Norte do Egeu, inserimos nossa discussão no âmbito das correntes teóricas emergentes no Mediterrâneo, especialmente aquelas que questionam o conceito de insularidade. A partir desses debates teóricos, observamos, em Thasopoula, a presença de elementos que sugerem uma conectividade e atividade intensa em níveis de interação não apenas local, mas também regional. Acreditamos que o fato de Thasopoula ser uma ilhota estrategicamente controlada lança luz sobre as áreas delimitadas pelos domínios de ilhas maiores, representando uma espécie de koiné regional para o controle de áreas estratégicas entre ilhas.
