A arte de Homero e o historiador: observações introdutórias

Este artigo visa abordar algumas características literárias específicas dos poemas homéricos - Ilíada e Odisseia - sobre as quais uma abordagem histórica precisa estar plenamente consciente de modo a entender o tipo de registro discursivo com o qual trabalha, bem como o contexto cultural que informa a produção da épica homérica. A obscura e altamente debatida evidência sobre os estágios mais recuados da produção e da transmissão dos poemas, assim como os dispositivos estilísticos específicos de um texto derivado da oralidade, logo distinto da nossa experiência moderna de literatura, são desafios que o historiador precisa estar ciente de modo a formular suas hipóteses de trabalho de forma mais consistente. Desse modo, este artigo oferece uma visão geral destes temas, enquanto sugere leituras adicionais de aprofundamento.Downloads
