Abstract

The XV Capixaba Seminar on Art Teaching proposed the theme “Urgent Dialogues”, aiming to promote reflections on decolonial art teaching, thus recognizing and legitimizing intersectional educational practices in art. The event was held between the 29th and 31st of August 2023, at Cine Metrópolis and in the Auditorium of the Arts Center, at the Federal University of Espírito Santo, with the participation of more than 300 people circulating through the conferences and communications sessions. This article presents reflections on the contributions of the debates fostered by the event to educational practices in art that prioritize decolonial art teaching.

Author Biographies

Adriana Rosely Magro, UFES

He has a degree in Artistic Education from the State University of Londrina (2002), a specialization in Art History: Modernity and Post-Modernity (2003), a master's degree in Education from the Universidade do Oeste Paulista (2006) and a doctorate in Education from the Federal University of Espírito Santo (2010). She completed a doctoral internship at L"Università Sapienza di Roma (2009). She is currently associate professor II at the Federal University of Espírito Santo. She has experience in the area of ​​Arts, with an emphasis on Arts, working mainly on the following themes: non-formal education, art education , Greimasian semiotics, teaching visual arts and plastic arts.

Larissa Fabrício Zanin, UFES

He has a degree in Visual Arts from the Federal University of Espírito Santo (2004), a master's degree in History (2007) and a doctorate in Education from the Federal University of Espírito Santo (2012). She is currently an assistant professor in the Visual Arts department at the Federal University of Espírito Santo, a researcher at GEPEL and Director of the Arts Center. She was a tutor in the Conexões Cultura Tutorial Education Program from 2015 to 2020. She has experience in the area of ​​Arts, with an emphasis on Semiotics, Visual Culture, Photography, working mainly on the following topics: teaching arts, visual culture, identity and subjectivations.

Maira Pego de Aguiar, UFES

He has a degree in Artistic Education from the Federal University of Espírito Santo (1992), a master's degree (2004) and a doctorate (2010) in Education also from the Federal University of Espírito Santo. Professor at Ufes since 2013, working in the Department of Art and Music Theory, Centro de Artes. Coordinator of the Degree courses in Full and Evening Visual Arts from 2016 to 2020. Coordinator of Pibid Artes Visuais Ufes from 2017 to 2020. Tutor of PET Conexões Cultura Ufes selection notice 2020. Deputy director of the Arts Center/Ufes. She has experience in the field of Education, with an emphasis on teacher training and art teaching.
