Editorial Workflow

The editorial workflow of the Revista de Estud(i)os sobre Fichte (REsF) is designed to ensure efficiency, rigor, and transparency at all stages, from submission to publication. The journal adopts a semiannual periodicity, with the publication of two issues per year. Additionally, in accordance with contemporary scientific communication trends and SciELO guidelines, the journal adopts the Continuous Publication model, which allows approved articles to be published immediately after the completion of the editing process, without the need to wait for the closure of a complete issue.

The workflow stages comprise:

1 - Reception and Protocol: Automatic confirmation of manuscript receipt and assignment of a protocol number.

2 - Submission Template and Mandatory Declarations: At the time of submission, the author must complete the Submission Template, which contains a form with mandatory declarations to ensure an informed and transparent editorial and peer review process, as detailed in the Submissions and the Editorial Policy. REsF accepts submissions of manuscripts previously deposited in preprint servers (especially SciELO Preprints), and the author must inform the DOI at the time of submission; the submission of a preprint automatically implies the adoption of the single-blind review model.

3 - Admissibility Assessment (Desk Review): Initial verification by the editorial board regarding scope adequacy, compliance with formatting standards, and plagiarism detection (Turnitin Similarity). Manuscripts that do not meet the criteria are returned to the authors or rejected.

4 - Reviewer Assignment: Manuscripts approved in the initial screening are sent to ad hoc reviewers who are experts in the field. Authors may suggest or recommend national or international reviewers for the manuscript, with the final decision on assignment being the responsibility of the editorial team.

5 - Peer Review Rounds: Communication between authors and reviewers is mediated exclusively by the editorial team, ensuring anonymity in the standard model. Interaction occurs via the system, with the possibility of multiple review rounds and adjustments. The journal adopts the double-blind model as its standard practice, with the possibility of opening to single-blind or all identities visible upon agreement of all parties.

6 - Editorial Decision: Based on the reviews, the Editor-in-Chief makes the final decision on publication. The summary of the reviews that led to the article's approval is published at the end of the manuscript, upon the express authorization of each reviewer (with or without identification). The name, ORCID iD, and affiliation of the editor responsible for the approval are included in the article's post-textual metadata.

7 - Editing and Layout: After acceptance, the manuscript undergoes grammatical revision, bibliographic standardization, and electronic editing (generation of XML, HTML, and PDF files).

8 - DEIA Document and Final Publication Template: After approval by the reviewers, the remaining information necessary for final publication is collected through the DEIA Document (gender and ethnicity data, optional) and the Final Publication Template (which gathers complementary metadata, such as CRediT authorship contribution, funding, acknowledgments, and other information).

9 - Publication: The article is made available in open access on the journal's official website, under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license. The metadata are dedicated to the public domain under the CC0 1.0 Universal license. The article receives DOI attribution and is digitally preserved in the UFES Journal Portal and the CLOCKSS system.

REsF follows COPE guidelines for the correction of published articles, adopting the instruments of errata, retraction, and expression of concern, as applicable.
