This article presents the outreach activities implemented by the group that makes up the Outreach Program entitled "Youth and Violence: From Violation to Guarantee of Rights" at the State University of Londrina, Paraná. This project, supported by the Ministry of Education (MEC)/SESU, aims to identify the needs of socially vulnerable youth and work with them through a research-intervention methodology. After preliminary research conducted at the Londrina Adolescent Police Station in 2013, the neighborhoods in the city of Londrina with the highest rates of youth violence were identified. Thus, the program's actions focused on community outreach activities within the identified neighborhood, using inclusive and preventive pedagogical strategies to promote social inclusion and guarantee and defend the rights of young people. Among the initiatives, we highlight workshops with adolescents addressing the topics of education and alternative media. Thus justifying the title of the article, which seeks to relate what is presented by traditional media and Residencial Vista Bela.
