Revisiting the creation processes of the Rural Education Degree Course- UFES, Goiabeiras campus:
a historical rescue of achievements and challenges
Abstract
This article seeks to gather memories and debates the processes of the constitution of the Degree Course in Rural Education - in the Goiabeiras campus of the Federal University of Espírito Santo State. The reports presented are part of a research on the challenges of students stay in this course, whose both multidisciplinary formation by area of knowledge and the alternating terms and formative spaces become challenging in view of the traditional configuration of the Brazilian Higher Education. The research's theoretical-methodological framework dialogues with the studies of Paulo Freire and with theoreticians of popular and Rural Education. From the perspective of participatory research, data production for the records highlighted here included a bibliographic, a documentary and a field research as well, not to mention interviews with some professors who were part of the movement for the creation of this Degree course. Data point to the complexity of building a course that proposes breaks in Higher Education and the democratization of the relations to knowledge.
