The use of the math charts game in math classes
Abstract
This article presents an excerpt from the results of a master's research, which analyzed the use of the game “Mathematical cards” in math classes of elementary school I, discussing the contributions of the game to the teaching and learning practices of whole numbers, in order to make such content more accessible with regard to the contact and interaction that children and adolescents may have with the games, showing how the games arose through contact with the disciplines, the various forms of didactics applicable to materials, giving subsidies and opinions about recreation as a way of introducing the content. The methodology used was carried out through the application of a mathematical game, as a strategy to trigger the teaching-learning process, emphasizing problem solving. The game that was used was “Mathematical cards”, which focuses on one of the main themes involving Mathematics and educational practice, which is the problem solving method for teaching Integers within the 7th grade classes. After completing the research it became evident that games are important in school, but before that they are important for life.
