Abstract

In science teaching in the 9th grade of elementary school (PE), it is clear that students have great difficulty in terms of learning about the periodic table. In this sense, there is a need to use differentiated explanation strategies that motivate the student and enhance the teaching and learning process. In this way, the game becomes an important didactic resource, as it promotes interaction and communication between students and stimulates logical reasoning. This work presents a game entitled "Guess who's on the periodic table", as a pedagogical strategy aiming to contribute significantly to the teaching and learning process on the themes of periodic table and chemical elements. As a result, the work was carried out in a 9th year class of PE from a state school in São Mateus-ES. The results achieved bring the importance of using resources that facilitate the process of teaching and training students and approximating the content studied with everyday life.
