The research highlights the use of Comics as a pedagogical tool for the development of literacy. Fourth grade students from a public school located in the south of Espirito Santo participated in this study. Its purpose was to address how comic books can contribute to the development of students' reading and interpretation skills and, for that, we seek to understand how the use of comic books can favor the practice of reading and interpreting in the classroom. The results revealed the potential of Comic Books (Comics) to arouse the interest of students, expanding their reading skills, advancing the development of criticality. From this research, a didactic guide was prepared with instructions on how to produce a re-reading of children's films in the format of comic books.
