Abstract

Talking about nepotism and first ladyism refers to the understanding and evaluation of a broad historical process, providing an in-depth analysis of the totality and Brazilian reality. Nepotism as a practice that violates rights reflects a pratimonialist and paternalistic history in Brazil, in which the wives of rulers are relegated to "helping" the poor and marginalized, a practice recognized as First Ladyism. This work is carried out through bibliographical and state-of-the-art research, of a qualitative nature and permeated by historical-dialectical materialism, portraying the perversities surrounding nepotism and First Ladyism, as "rotten roots" to be fought by organic intellectuals, researchers and population committed to social rights, with a view to building a fair and democratic society, seeking to establish a Democratic State based on the rule of law and to abolish these ills.
