Abstract

Violence is a violation of Human Rights and a socio-historical phenomenon that has accompanied the entire experience of humanity. This harm is a public health issue that affects a large number of individuals, groups, and populations, negatively impacting both individual and collective health, with increased mortality, physical and emotional sequelae. According to the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), the health sector is the setting where the consequences of violence converge, whether in emergency services, specialized care, physical and psychological rehabilitation, and/or social assistance.
