The article aims to analyze the production of homoerotic paintings and their communicative and expressive potential for desires that break with the heteronormative imaginary surrounding bodies, thoughts, desires and artistic productions. A discussion will be held on the standardization of desires and self-regulation promoted by modern society through culture and state promotions through the theories of Norbert Elias with the aim of relating these issues to the artistic production of the painter Carlos Rodriguez.
