2007 - Launch of the periodical
The Revista (Con)Textos Linguísticos was launched in 2007 with the aim of promoting the exchange of research and new ideas at state, national and international levels, as well as consolidating the commitment of the Graduate Program in Linguistics (PPGEL) at the Federal University of Espírito Santo (Ufes), which at the time, had a Master's degree in Linguistic Studies, promoting research in linguistics in the state of Espírito Santo. The first editorial team was made up of professors Lúcia Helena Peyroton da Rocha and Maria da Penha Pereira Lins.

2010 - Expansion of the editorial committee
In the first edition of 2010, new members joined the editorial team: professors Ana Cristina Carmelino (as president), Micheline Mattedi Tomazi (vice-president) and Júlia Maria da Costa de Almeida.

2012 - Semiannual periodicity and new additions to the editorial team
With the intention of improving its evaluation and in response to Capes' demands, the periodicity of the periodical changed to semiannual from 2012 onwards. In the same year, there was a change in the editorial team, which also became part of Prof. Alexsandro Rodrigues Meireles (in the position of president) and professors Edenize Ponzo Peres and Janayna Bertollo Cozer Casotti.

2013 - Quarterly periodicity and changes to the editorial team
The magazine began to be published quarterly from 2013 onwards, when the editorial team acquired the following configuration: Alexsandro Rodrigues Meireles (Managing Editor), Ana Cristina Carmelino (Layout Editor), Aurélia Lyrio (Text Editor), Edenize Ponzo Peres (Section Editor), Janayna Bertollo Cozer Casotti (Section Editor), Júlia Maria da Costa de Almeida (Text Editor), Lúcia Helena Peyroton da Rocha (Proof Reader), Maria da Penha Pereira Lins (Text Editor) and Micheline Mattedi Tomazi (Section Editor).

2014 - New changes to the editorial team
In 2014, there was another change in the editorial team, which now has the following configuration: Janayna Bertollo Cozer Casotti (Managing Editor), Alexsandro Rodrigues Meireles (Proof Reader), Aurélia Leal Lima Lyrio (Text Editor), Carmelita Minélio da Silva Amorim (Section Editor), Edenize Ponzo Peres (Text Editor), Júlia Maria Costa de Almeida (Text Editor), Lúcia Helena Peyroton da Rocha (Text Editor), Micheline Mattedi Tomazi (Section Editor) and Rivaldo Capistrano de Souza Júnior (Text Editor).

2015 - New composition of the editorial team
In 2015, the magazine began to identify three editorial sections in the configuration of the functions of team members: Alexsandro Rodrigues Meireles (Managing Editor), Carmelita Minélio Silva Amorim (Editor of the Analytical-descriptive Studies section), Edenize Ponzo Peres (Editor of Text), Janayna Bertollo Cozer Casotti (Editor of the Applied Linguistics section), Lúcia Helena Peyroton da Rocha (Text Editor) and Micheline Mattedi Tomazi (Editor of the Text and Discourse section).

2016 - Changes in the editorial team and opening of the doctoral course
In 2016, the editorial team acquired the following configuration: Alexsandro Rodrigues Meireles (Managing Editor), Janayna Bertollo Cozer Casotti (Editor of the Applied Linguistics section), Lúcia Helena Peyroton da Rocha (Editor of the Analytical-descriptive Studies section) and Micheline Mattedi Tomazi (Editor of the Text and Discourse section). In the same year, with the opening of the Doctorate course in Linguistic Studies, the periodical is no longer identified as a periodical for the Master's in Linguistic Studies to be recognized as a periodical for the Graduate Program in Linguistics at Ufes.

2017 - New changes to the editorial team
In 2017, the editorial team acquired the following configuration: Alexsandro Rodrigues Meireles (Managing Editor), Janayna Bertollo Cozer Casotti (Editor of the Applied Linguistics section), Gesieny Laurett Neves Damasceno (Editor of the Analytical-descriptive Studies section), Christiane Nunes de Souza (Section Editor) and Micheline Mattedi Tomazi (Text and Discourse Section Editor).

2019 - Reorganization of the editorial team
As of 2019, the editorial team acquired a new composition: Pedro Henrique Witchs (Managing Editor), Janayna Bertollo Cozer Casotti (Editor of the Applied Linguistics section), Gesieny Laurett Neves Damasceno (Editor of the Analytical-descriptive Studies section), Micheline Mattedi Tomazi (Editor of the Text and Discourse section) and Mayara de Oliveira Nogueira (Text Editor).

2020 - New recomposition of the editorial team
In 2020, Prof. Flávia Medeiros Álvaro Machado took over as editor of the Analytical-descriptive Studies section.

2022 - New recomposition of the editorial team
In 2022, the editorial team was made up of the following members: Janayna Bertollo Cozer Casotti (Managing Editor and Editor of the Applied Linguistics section), Flávia Medeiros Álvaro Machado (Editor of the Analytical-Descriptive Studies section), Micheline Mattedi Tomazi (Editor of Text and Discourse section) and Mayara de Oliveira Nogueira (Text Editor).

2023 - Artistic cover
Volume 37, number 38, last edition of 2023, featured the first artistic cover of the periodical, produced by master's student Liliane Rodrigues de Albuquerque Alvim.

2024 - Changes to the editorial team
As of 2024, the editorial team has acquired the following composition: Pedro Henrique Witchs (managing editor and editor of the Applied Linguistics section), Amanda Heiderich Marchon (editor of the Analytical-Descriptive Studies section and text editor) and Rivaldo Capistrano de Souza Júnior (editor of the Text and Discourse section).
