Abstract

We visited three elementary schools, one in the municipality of Cariacica and two in the municipality of Serra. A field study was carried out with questionnaires for 5th graders in Cariacica and 7th and 9th graders in school A and 7th and 8th graders in school B, both in the municipality of Serra. Through the questionnaires, the students had free choice as to whether or not to answer the questions. The Principals and Pedagogues were also asked three open-ended questions to answer or not about bullying and the involvement of the teaching staff on the subject. In this context, we can see that the students are aware of bullying and its consequences, and know how to identify the victim, the aggressor and the bystanders. The teaching staff have done work on the subject. We therefore observed that the family, the school and the teaching staff still need to come closer together.
