Between songs, oven mouths and petecas: experiences and records of child culture in Maranhão
Abstract
The aim of this research was to recognize the process of socialization and knowledge exchange among Maranhão children in the spaces they choose to play and the production of new cultures, in the specific manifestations of the community where they live. It was considered a theoretical and methodological path for understanding the object studied, which began with a bibliographic survey of the authors who contributed to the research, and the participant observation, in which were recorded the moments of children, playing and recreating games and toys. Philosophical and sociological studies were used to define play and children's culture, based on the contexts of children's experiences with their peers and with adults. To this end, authors such as Sarmento (2008), Benjamim (1984) and Postman (1999) provided theoretical and methodological support in scientific production.
