Teacher Education in the Rural Education Degree: dialogues and challenges with Florestan Fernandes

This article seeks to develop a reflection on the formation of educators in the field comparing with elaborations of the Patron of Brazilian Sociology, connected in the educational and social sphere in the dynamics of class struggle. It draws attention to the gravity and complexity of the current socio-historical moment that jeopardizes the future of humanity. Based on the elaborations of Florestan Fernandes, and from a conception of formation, he discusses founding ideas in the processes of formation of educators, among them the theoretical rigor, the link with popular processes and organizations of the countryside and the city and the need for ethical and moral development in a perspective of social and individual transformation. In the end it presents a set of challenges as an integral part of the processes of formation of educators in the field that will necessarily have to be faced by our formative praxis.
