Abstract

This manuscript shares and discusses the experiences of students of an interdisciplinary teacher’s degree in natural sciences, as scholarship holders in the Pedagogical Residency Program (CAPES / MEC) at a public school in Porto Seguro, extreme south of Bahia. The activities were carried out from August/2018 to January/2020, and included: attending a training course; teaching natural sciences in high school; mentoring workshops on agroecological garden/environmental education, and experimentation in science teaching; in addition to attending academic events at the college and in the community. The experiences contributed to fostering in each resident new perspective on pedagogical practices in natural sciences, in the classroom and outside, giving new meaning to what is a teacher. It was observed that dialogic teaching practices were more effective in the activities carried out throughout the residency, since they value the speeches and the life history of each student.
