This work was the result of a master's dissertation, which aimed to analyze the understandings of teachers in initial training about the structure and particularities of the Scientific Dissemination Discourse. Therefore, it was proposed to read this textual genre and as a reading strategy, the formulation of questions was used with undergraduates in chemistry, scholarship holders of the Institutional Scholarship Program for Initiation to Teaching. The Scientific Dissemination Text (CDT) chosen for this activity was the Introduction to the book “Barbies, Hula hoops and Billiard Balls” by Joe Schwarcz. The questions formulated by the undergraduates from the reading were analyzed based on a priori categories already defined by Ferreira (2009), which bring the particularities of a TDC, on scientific, conceptual, historical, daily and didactic aspects.
