an experience report on the performance of the pedagogical residency program in the pandemic and pregnancy context

Abstract

This work aims to report the experience of a student from the Pedagogical Residency Program (PRP), enrolled in the Chemistry Degree, during one of the most challenging moments faced by contemporary education: the Covid-19 pandemic. The interest in describing the challenges, fears and anxieties experienced by the academic is due to the chaotic context imposed by the pandemic, added to the fact that she is pregnant, offering a perspective of overcoming limits. The pandemic began in December 2019, in China, and was declared by the World Health Organization as a global pandemic in February 2020. This led to the closure of borders, suspension of commercial activities, leisure, schools and universities. Social isolation became the primary strategy to contain the spread of the virus, causing an unexpected and prolonged period of significant changes in the way of life, which lasted until 2023, with the dissemination of vaccines and the reduction of virus transmission. Finally, the experience gained during this process has contributed to the student not only being able to understand the context of education and teaching, through entry into the Pedagogical Residency Program, but also realizing her enormous strength in overcoming limits and barriers, as , during the pandemic process, a feeling of fear and anguish was generated in almost the entire population, which were gradually overcome, with the advancement of science and in the case of the report followed, the academic also went through a pregnancy process, which in itself , already generates a lot of insecurity in most women.
