Resumo

Nas últimas décadas, houve uma notável reavaliação de Cícero como um pensador significativo e um dos mais desafiadores, dada a variedade e a extensão dos seus escritos em diferentes gêneros literários e seu engajamento criativo com a filosofia helenística. A obra de Cícero fornece pistas essenciais para a compreensão da vida intelectual do Mediterrâneo e da Roma tardo-republicana, a circulação dos conhecimentos, sua produção e disseminação. Este artigo explorará alguns elementos da vida intelectual do período e do projeto filosófico ciceroniano com base em passagens de discursos forenses e diálogos filosóficos de Cícero.
