Report of a didactic experience called "Photography in Perspective" that involves the use of photography as an instrument for the teaching of Mathematics. The experience was inspired and refers to works that deal with the use of photography or imagery in teaching. It was held in 2015 with 9th grade students from a private school in the city of São Mateus, Espírito Santo, and took the form of an activity outside the school followed by reflection, deepening, composition and exhibition of information posters; with it, the teacher-researcher sought to answer the following question: “What contributions can we obtain from the use of photography in the teaching of geometry?” Technically, the report follows a qualitative approach that combines the description of what happened with an analysis conducted from the students' productions, both taking into account data collected through the participant observation of the teacher-researcher assisted by a field diary. The main conclusions are: in general aspects, the experience was quite satisfactory, with enthusiastic and effective participation of the students; although students' attention has deviated from the focus on geometry, the use of photography has allowed the exercise of creativity, group work, the contextualization of mathematical content and the establishment of relationships with other areas of knowledge.
