Resumo

Em Os cativos, Plauto encena a tentativa de um pater familias de reaver seu filho, prisioneiro de guerra. A comédia é interpretada à luz do ius postliminium e o texto de Plauto é correlacionado com os esforços romanos de resgate de cativos da Segunda Guerra Púnica.
