This study investigated the implementation of a subtitling task within a foreign language teaching and learning context. The main objective of this work was to evaluate to what extent the interlingual subtitling task fosters general and noun phrase comprehension of the English Language by Brazilian students. Thus, a subtitling task of videos was proposed with scaffolding orientation of the procedures of subtitle domestication, reduction and segmentation. In the first term of 2022, the proposed task was implemented to test its effectivity/productivity. Data were collected through pre and post-tests and a questionnaire. The quantitative data were analyzed using regression models in R programming language (2022). It was then compared to the qualitative data provided by the participants. The results of this study highlight the benefits concerning the facilitation of general comprehension of the videos as well as the comprehension of the noun phrases in the videos.
